What is the difference between these two white marbles?
Most people have a vision of what “Italian Marble” looks like. There are two common varieties, which are often mixed up. They come from the same city, both are white & both start with a “C”. But one is three times the price! The Italians only let out a certain amount of weight per year, to keep the cost up. That one is Calacatta. Its has warm, creamy whites & browns. The less expensive variety is called Carrara; this has cooler tones with grey veining. Both are beautiful and much sought after.
