The process:
- Explore your local natural stone slab suppliers
- Choose a material, or materials (ask for samples)
- Choose an edge profile
- Choose a fabricator to request an estimate from. You’ll need to send your drawing to get an estimate
Don’t forget to include:
- Drawing of area you’d like in stone
- What kind of stone & what supplier carries it
- Which Edge profile you like (Square/Eased or Round/Bullnose etc)
- Indicate which edges need to be finished
- Whether you want an under-mount or top-mount sink
- If you’d like backsplash, make sure to include the material, size & pattern
- Contact info: Phone, email & job address
Did you know: Its your choice who you use for fabrication. Most of the time your contractor/designer will have their preference. But ultimately the choice is yours.
Did you know: If you’ve found the perfect slab, but its a different finish than you wanted. YOU CAN HAVE IT CHANGED! Normally it starts at about $10 per sq/ft, depending on the material and the finish.
Did you know: That you can also change the thickness. Choices on this alteration are a bit limited. If you find a 3cm (1-1/4″) and want it 2cm (3/4″) or 1cm (3/8″) that can be done as well.
Did you know: You can also cut your slab into tile (any size). This is a good option if you wanted to match your back splash to your counter. You don’t have to cut the whole slab up, just as much as you need.
